We have a thriving 19 bed learning and production garden. We started as a humble 9 bed garden in 2010. In 2014 year we expanded to 19 beds. The original 9 are still used for in classroom learning. The 10 new beds are farmed for use in the cafeteria.

We have 10 raised beds, made of cinder blocks with tile mosaics. Our Pre-K - 5th graders grow tomatoes, herbs, beans, and other crops. We enjoy the yield straight out of the garden, and at our annual Harvest Celebration.

Environmental Sciences Magnet School at Mary Hooker provides over 600 students grades Pre-K thru 8th with access to 26 raised beds a 600 sqft greenhouse & 1,200 sqft vivarium. Our students along with the local community help manage and support our vision.
